Cobra are moving into their new purpose built facility to further provide the niche service that has proved so successful in the last year with Volvo, the VW/Audi Group and General Motors. HP Chemie Pelzer, and IAC . The £4.3 Million investment showcases technology led equipment unrivalled in the sector, such as the large scale FDM machine and the two laser inspection / benchmarking / reverse lasers installed in the engineering facility and the CNC cutting capability.
Managing Director Gary Seale says 'This commitment by the directors
and backers of Cobra, quite clearly demonstrate to our competitors that
we have arrived and can now be considered a very real rival. The mere fact
that we are moving to this facility has already stimulated interest in resourcing
business to Cobra from our rivals and more excitingly allowing us to quote
competitively for European large scale production requirements, in the interior
trim sectors of loadfloors, sunblinds, loadcovers NVH assemblies and luggage
impact restraint systems. We look forward to taking Cobra to our next
stage of development within the next five years, a £45 million turnover
company employing over 83 people.’
So it would seem that Cobra have indeed struck back and are now moving
further onto the attack. Interesting times are surely in place at
Buttington where the likes of WIPAK, SPX and Traltech have already established
the area as a centre of European operations. Buttington Cross is one of
the largest business parks in Mid Wales with nearly 300,000 sq. ft. of
high quality industrial premises built there.
